Zoheb & Fareena met in medical school on orientation day on 17th October 2005. The proposal, funnily enough, was during their engagement when he went down on one knee. This was after two previous attempts in which he had planned a proposal but then plans changed!

The theme of the wedding was focued on the Kenyan beach with a combination of blue and gold. The flowers followed this theme, they used baskets instead of vases and for the flowers they had white roses, lilies which are Fareena’s favourite. Another addition to this theme was the wedding cake, as they both love chocolate, it was only right they had a chocolate wedding cake.

Zoheb and Fareena had both dreamed of a beach wedding, Mzima house was the first location they saw and instantly fell in love with it.

Having a nikah on a beach is not entirely traditional but that made it even more special for the couple. What made their wedding memorable was having their closest friends and family, 20 to be precise, to celebrate that moment with them.

The reception was an intimate affair with family and a few friends. For their first dance, they performed a salsa number which was a memorable moment.

For the wedding favours, they provided their guests baskets filled with a hippo made from soapstone and a blue heart with the wedding date engraved on it. They wanted to do something different from the traditional sweets that people usually get at a wedding and these were favours they could keep for years to come!

“A truly memorable experience, every moment was a highlight because we were starting our life journey together with the person of our dreams…but if we were to pick one out of the highlight reel, it would be the beach photo shoot. We loved that we got to have our dream beach wedding with our special loved ones.”
