We met Carol from Henry and Flora on twitter and are delighted to interview her about her work, find out what she had to say…

How did Henry and Flora begin?

Henry and Flora Wedding Stationery is relatively new to the scene. My partner and I came up with the idea and put the website together late 2012, so we have actually only been around for just over 6 months! And what 6 months they have been! We have learnt a lot in a very short space of time.

Who is behind the company?

There are just two of us who run Henry and Flora, and it works like a well oiled machine! We both have specific and distinctly different roles, so we both know who is responsible for what. I mainly work on customer service, social media, and the work flow in the studio and my partner is the website designer and coder. We both create the stationery ranges. We are graphic designers and combined have nearly 20 years experience in the field. Designing is our real passion and we love what we do. It’s great being able to design a vintage wedding range one day, and then switch to something totally different the next. I also love having the ability to write on our blog. It’s a real creative outlet for me and means that I get to engage with other wedding suppliers out there, gather inspiration from all over the web, and create DIY projects for our readers to follow. What have been your highlights so far?

Everyday we work doing what we love is a highlight for us! We have a few special moments coming up in the next few months too, so you’ll have to watch this space for updates! We are on Twitter (@henryandflora) and Facebook ( so be sure to follow us to keep up to date with what’s going on!

Have you had any low moments, and if you have, how did you overcome them?

We haven’t really had any specific low moments. Time is the one thing that can make us sigh a little – there just aren’t enough hours in a day sometimes! But we would far prefer to have late nights and copious amounts of coffee, that to cut corners and create a product that we weren’t totally 100% happy with.

What makes you unique compared to other companies?

Our designs! We design our stationery completely from scratch so there won’t be anything like it on the market (unless someone has copied us!) We mix vintage, quirky and charming design elements to create our ranges. We also offer a bespoke service where bride-and-grooms-to-be can send us their ideas and we create a range just for them. And it doesn’t have to just be something similar to what we already have for sale in our shop – whether you want hand-finished embellishments, or shiny gold foil-blocking, we will do our best to create the wedding stationery of your dreams. The possibilities really are endless!

And finally what are your goals for the future?

We just hope that we can continue doing what we are doing; creating wedding stationery that other people love and want to involve us in creating the wedding day of their dreams. It’s such an honour that couples choose us and it’s what makes us carry on!
