Kam and Andy’s Redhouse Barn Wedding

Sikh fusion wedding

This modern wedding is what I dream of as a fusion wedding blogger. It’s always so fascinating to see how couples plan their wedding and what traditions they choose to adopt or leave out. That’s the beauty of multicultural weddings, I think, to be able to pick the traditions that are most important to you. This wedding certainly has given me so much inspiration!

You always see a lot of Indian brides who have their hair style tied back because of their chuni on their heads. As Kam opted for a gorgeous white saree, she didn’t need to cover her head. This allowed her to have a beautiful natural hair style showing her lovely long hair. This works so well against her make up and her white saree. As she had a civil ceremony, having a white saree seemed like the right choice for Kam!

How nice is the colour theme? I love how the bridesmaids sarees and outfits matched with the groom and groomsmen’s ties. They go perfectly with the light pink rose bridesmaids bouquets. I am also digging the see through chairs. These go perfectly with the tables which focuses all the attention on the table decor. They really make a big difference compared to ribbons on the back of chairs, as this is so unique.

When Nicola from Daffodil Waves Photography met Kam and Andy, she fell in love with them straight away. They had met her previously at their friends wedding, impressed with her work, she was booked! It was lovely to hear from the photographer’s point of view of how she adored the mendhi night and had hers done too. You certainly know it was a good wedding when the photographer didn’t want to leave!

I wanted to share all the photographs with you as there was so many to choose from, including the mehndi night, but I narrowed it down to these beauties.

All the good ideas where mine (i.e. Andy’s) and not Kam’s! And it all worked out pretty darn well in the end. Thanks for your lovely words Raj 🙂
