My First Bloggers Meet Up

On Sunday I took a stroll down (I say stroll, it was a drive and a train journey) for my first bloggers meet up. It was organised by Nina from The Asian Fashion Journal for those who write about Asian Fashion and weddings. As a multicultural/fusion wedding blogger, I am lucky enough to fit into all types of wedding niches!

As a keeno, I arrived early at The Book Club and waited for the girls to arrive. One by one they started arriving and it was amazing to get such a diverse group of ladies in one meet. Nina was surprised as she sent a tweet out, about meeting up, and received a really good response. Bloggers came from Manchester, Birmingham and Bedford to meet up in London.

It was just so nice to be able to speak about blogging. None of my friends have blogs so they can listen to what I do and why I blog, but you definitely understand it more if you’re also doing it. We discussed the highlights, the goals, the history how we all started our blogs and tips and advice about blogging in general. There was a variety of personalities discussing all types of Asian Fashion designers and weddings. We were lucky enough to have Mani Jassal - a lovely fashion designer and stylist attend too.

Having a great support system is priceless. Everyone was genuinely excited about each other’s blog successes which I admire. There was no competition, just so much praise and interest. I would definitely recommend attending a bloggers meet up or arranging one yourself. You will leave feeling excited to have made new friends who you can connect with, feel inspired and motivated to blog again (if you are going through writers block - we’ve all been there!)
