Ox Pasture Hall

Ox Pasture Hall

On Friday 1st August, I was lucky enough to stay at Ox Pasture Hall  located in one of Britain’s most beautiful settings in the magnificent North Yorkshire Moors National Park, only 2 miles from Scarborough, with unrivalled and unforgettable views for your special day. When I first arrived, I noticed the incredible gardens (17 acres of landscapes gardens and grounds to be precise), which are the ideal backdrop for drinks, reception and gorgeous wedding photography. Straight away I mentioned that the car park was large enough for your wedding guests, which is useful so your guests don’t have to worry about where to park!

Luxury Accommodation

After a 3.5 hour drive from Cambridgeshire to North Yorkshire we were greeted with such a friendly welcome. Just what you needed after a long drive. We were shown to our suite and our first impression was WOW. It was pure luxury. Such a spacious suite which is definitely what you need if you’re staying at the hotel and getting ready for the wedding. The details of the suite, from the soft carpet, comfort of the leather sofa to the details of the curtains, did not go unnoticed. My favourite part was the incredible and modern bathroom. The tiles, the two sink basins, the modern tap features and the best shower I’ve been in. A walk in shower with a powerful shower head, I almost didn’t want to come back out!Ox Pasture Hotel Bathroom Ox Pasture Hotel Shower

The hotel has 32 beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms that are made up of three different areas of accommodation. Rooms are located in the main hall overlooking the manicured gardens, which are uniquely framed by the backdrop of Raincliffe woods. They also have some rooms, which overlook both the wisteria-clad courtyard and the rear pond with its abundance of wildlife. Or you can stay in their town house building, which overlooks the spectacular North York Moors National Park. The bride and groom are allocated one of the Deluxe bedrooms as a bridal suite for 1 night on a complimentary basis*Ox Pasture Hall Accommodation

Afternoon Tea

I’m such a lover of afternoon tea as you may have recently read on my Luxury Gifts for newlyweds post. It’s such an enjoyable experience and I personally find tea tastes better during afternoon tea. We sat outside overlooking the gardens and it was so peaceful. It’s rare for me to be able to sit and relax, I’m always working, blogging, at the gym while trying to have a social life. So when I sat and admired the scenery, it was so precious to me, because these moments are so rare.Ox Pasture House Afternoon tea

The purpose of my stay was to see how the hotel works in terms of accommodating weddings. There was actually a wedding when were there and then the next morning they were preparing for another one. Lynsey Fletcher, the wedding co-ordinator at the hotel, showed me around the Dovecote Suite. It opened up in 2005 which provides facilities for civil wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships, receptions and evening functions. Ox Pasture Reception

The purpose built function room has been designed to reflect the agricultural background of the hotel and blends seamlessly, with the rustic charm of the existing buildings.  Being totally self-contained, it provides privacy for your party and has its own state of the art kitchen providing great flexibility in the styles of catering the hotel can offer, whether it be a simple buffet or a grand banquet. A large discount is offered for weddings from Monday – Thursday.Just Married at Ox Pasture Hall

Lynsey emphasised that no wedding should be the same, each couple have their own taste, which is why the venue acts as a blank canvas. Allowing the couple to put their own personality on the venue so they can create the vision for their perfect day. As well as having weddings at the Dovecote Suite, you can also have the option of having a civil ceremony outside under a gazebo. Providing the weather, you can also have the option of having an outside BBQ or wedding breakfast outdoors. It’s completely up to you.Ox Pasture Hall Gardens

Civil Ceremonies, Same-Sex Weddings, Asian Weddings and Multicultural Weddings

One of the reasons that drew me into this hotel was the types of weddings they accommodate. As Secret Wedding Blog is  a multicultural blog, it is important to me to provide value to people planning their wedding, whatever type it may be. Ox Pasture Hall are proud that they held Scarborough’s first legal Same Sex Wedding in April 2014 and welcome more same sex couples to marry at their hotel. There have been people from all over the world who have come to get married at Ox Pasture Hall as it’s well worth the travel to marry at such a prime location.Gardens of Ox Pasture Hall
